Name of Position: Senior Statistical Programmer / Statistician

 

Abstract of Position:

The National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Menlo Park, California conducts research, monitoring, education, and training for PTSD, sexual trauma, and other mental health disorders and is seeking a researcher with strong statistical programming skills to work in a collegial atmosphere.   You will prepare and analyze data sets for studies of health care utilization, contribute to scientific papers, and help prepare national reports as part of a multi-disciplinary monitoring team.  Projects include large scale studies of the detection and treatment of sexual trauma and studies of mental health conditions in primary care.  This position presents excellent opportunities for publishing in the area of mental health services and gaining exposure to extensive datasets within the VA.

 

In order to apply for this position, you must have the following qualifications: 

1.       A bachelor’s degree and at least one year of additional schooling in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, or social sciences.  Relevant work experience is also sufficient. 

2.       Expertise with SAS programming in a UNIX environment.

3.       The ability to express yourself clearly in written and spoken English.

4.       U.S. citizenship.

Pay Rate/Salary:

Salary is based on education and work experience ranging from $76,482 to $99,431 annually.  Full benefits are provided.

 

This is a full time permanent position.  The National Center for PTSD provides a stimulating research environment at the VA Palo Alto.  The center works closely with the Center for Health Care Evaluation, a VA HSR&D Center of Excellence, the Heath Economics Resource Center (HERC), the Program Evaluation and Resource Center (PERC), the Sierra-Pacific MIRECC, and various programs at the Stanford University School of Medicine.  We are an equal opportunity employer.
