Name of Position: Statistical Programmer

 

Abstract of Position:

The Palo Alto CSPCC is one of five national coordinating centers in the Cooperative Studies Program (a division of VA Research & Development).  It is seeking a Statistical Programmer with a MS in Statistics or Biostatistics for its division in the VA Hospital in Menlo Park.

 

This position requires a strong level of proficiency in the following areas:

1.       verbal and written communication skills

2.       statistical modeling (i.e. survival, logistic, linear regression)

3.       statistical results summarization and interpretation

4.       interact effectively in a team environment with statisticians, clinicians and data management personnel

5.       statistical programming at an intermediate level in both SAS and S+/R

6.       interactive statistical analysis in a graphical user interface environment

7.       attention to detail

Highly Desirable: Knowledge of programming in the Unix environment; Prior clinical research and statistical methodology programming experience; Report writing; Analysis plan design.
