Name of Position: SAS Certified Software Engineer/Programmer

Location: San Jose, CA (could also be RTP, NC or Richardson, TX)

Cisco is seeking to add to its core team a SAS Software Engineer / Programmer to help design and build high value systems for analyzing mission critical data. The position involves the application of SAS best programming practice in code design and creation. The systems being built make extensive use of Proc SQL and Data step programming to acquire data and SAS macros and arrays for variable transformation. Output as well as data sets are created through ODS; SAS/Graph is used extensively for display. You will champion new methodologies and create scalable solutions that interact with widely deployed Internet products, thereby touching an endless number of users worldwide. Requirements:

• Bachelors in computer science or other technical field is required.
• SAS Certified Base and/or Advanced Programmer.  
•  At least five years of industrial experience writing SAS programs.
• Experience must include data cleaning and transformation, developing SAS macros, and using ODS.
• The candidate must enjoy solving unusual programming problems as well as like writing SAS code.
• Candidate must have excellent verbal communication skills and at least good writing skills.
• The candidate must be able to work well within a team composed of people of diverse professional backgrounds.

Desired:

• Masters degree in CS or Statistics.
• Experience in clinical trials
• Experience using SAS Enterprise Business
• Project Management experience.
• Intelligence platform, especially creating stored processes.
